The Glide surf school-IS CURRENTLY CLOSED UNTIL EASTER 2009!

is based in Cromer, Norfolk, UK. It is run in conjunction with North Norfolk Community Sports Network ‘Active North Norfolk’. The surf school runs 7 days of the week, from May to October with lessons taking place at the east side of the pier. Surf lessons are a great idea for a gift or a fun day out for your family or organisation. Whether you are a complete beginner or an intermediate surfer wishing to improve the Glide Surf School has lots to offer you. Qualifications and Experience

Instruction is from a fully qualified key stage 3 and 4 secondary school teacher, who also holds a BSA (British Surfing Association) level 1, RLSS beach lifeguard award and first aid at work. He has been surfing for 11 years in various locations around the world and in the UK. Safety

The Glide Surf School has full public liability insurance. Full equipment (wetsuit and surfboard) and supervision is provided with a maximum of 6 people to a group lesson. In addition to this the surf area is continually patrolled by RNLI lifeguards, making safety a number one priority.

The lesson

Lessons include the basics of surfing, paddling the board, catching the waves, standing up on the board, wave selection, turning techniques, basic surf etiquette, ocean awareness, surf safety and any future advice to help you with your life as a surfer. A single lesson lasts for 1 and half hours costing Ł20 for adults and Ł15 for under 16’s. Special individual lessons, group prices and ‘Stag and Hen’ parties and can also be arranged at variable prices.

Photography

The Glide surf school also has a professional photographer (www.miriamlightphotography.com) working with groups. On request your surf lesson can be photographed to catch the moment that you get to your feet and feel the glide. 'Photo and Surf Lesson' clients who pre book this package will receive a disc with photos from their lesson for an additional cost of Ł10. Clients, who don't request the photo lesson, can also purchase images at a price of Ł15 per disc of photos from their lesson. Terms, Conditions, Booking and Payment

The minimum age for surf lessons is 10 years old. All lessons are forecasted 5 days in advance so lessons can be timetabled. The Glide surf school does not accept any responsibility for flat or unsurfable conditions once lessons have been booked during this time. Lessons can be booked well in advance but are subject to confirmation by The Glide Surf School 5 days prior to the lesson date. It is recommended that clients should phone the morning of their lesson to confirm the lesson is still available to run. The Glide Surf School also recommmends using www.magicseaweed.com to check the latest surf conditions. Payment can be made by either cash or cheque. Hire

The hire of surf boards and wetsuits are also available. Prices for a full days’ rental costs Ł10 for either a surfboard or a wetsuit. For both a wetsuit and surfboard there is a reduced cost of Ł17. A drivers licence, passport or credit card will be required as a deposit.
